News-Arct* | 11 March 1952 | "The Lachlander", Condobolin, NSW, Australia; WEDDING. HARMER—MADDEN. Merle, eldest daughter of Mr. and Mrs. J. Madden, of Napier street, Condobolin, chose February 16, for her marriage to Private Kenneth Bruce Harmer, only son of Mr. and Mra I. L. Harmer, of Forbes street, Trundle. The quiet but pretty wedding was celebrated at St. Joseph's. Catholic Church. Mr. Madden gave his daughter away. White chantilly lace was chosen for the beautiful trained bridal gown, which featured a fitted bodice and heart-shaped neckline with long sleeves falling into a peak over the hand. Her pretty full length veil was mounted on a coronet of orange blossoms and she wore a string of pearls. White lily of the valley and frangipanni formed the bridal bouquet. Blue lace was chosen for the pretty ballerina frock worn by her sister Madge, who was her only attendant. She also wore a matching blue headdress. Duties of best man were ably carried out by Mr. Keith Jones, a friend of the 'groom. A small reception was held at the home of the bride's parents. Mrs. Madden received the guests, frocked in blue crepe with black accessories. Blue crepe with navy accessories was chosen by the groom's mother who assisted Mrs Madden. Many congratulatory telegrams were read, and the happy couple received numerous cheques and lovely presents. ;Principal=Mary Merle Madden2 |
