Death of Spouse | 18 April 1909 | Hartley Vale, NSW, Australia; DEATH AT HARTLEY VALE. A LARGE FAMILY BEREAVED. (From our own Correspondent. ) A gloom was cast over the town when it became known that, at an early hour on Sunday morning, Mrs. Ben. Morris had died. For some years Mrs. Morris had complained at intervals of faintness, but nothing serious was anticipated by her family and friends, until late on Saturday night, when she suddenly collapsed and died, from heart failure six hours after, child birth. Of a cheerful and contented disposition, Mrs Morris was noted far and wide for her estimable qualities, as a devoted wife, and mother, and true friend. In spite of the cares inseparable from the rearing of a large family, she often found time to assist on committees, etc., where her services were always welcome. Deceased, who was about 43 years of age, had been married about 26 years and was the mother of fifteen children, fourteen of whom survive her, ten daughters and four sons, ranging in age from 25 years to the newly born infant. Of the daughter's, three are married, one being Mrs. Joseph Morris, of "Riverview," near Hartley Vale, and the others, Mrs. John Dwyer and Mrs. James Robertson, both residing in Hartley Vale. There are five grand-children. Mrs. Morris, who prior to her marriage was Miss Lucy Field, was one of a family of fourteen, and has brothers and sisters resident in the Hartley district, as well as in different parts of the. State, the funeral took place shortly after 3 o'clock on Monday afternoon the remains being laid to rest in the Mount York cemetery. The touching service was conducted by the Rev. T. J.
