News-Arct* | 6 June 1930 | "The Forbes Advocate", Forbes, NSW, Australia; PIONEER'S PASSING John Strickland Dead Another Forbes pioneer passed away yesterday, when Mr. John Strickland died in Sydney at the advanced age of 85 years. Deceased, who was born in the Forbes district, was a well-known drover for many, years. He left here about nine years ago to take up residence at Lidcombe. His mother who owned Cadow Station in the early days, afterwards married again and deceased's half brother, Mr. Phillip Jones, resides in Sydney. The late Mr. Strickland is survived by a widow and six daughters, viz., Mesdames Clifford, Goodwin, and Davis, all of Sydney, and Mrs. Crotter (Carrobolin Station) and Mrs. Pat Molloy, Forbes.7 |
