Marriage* | 9 January 1943 | St Joseph's Catholic Church, Condobolin, NSW, Australia; PARNABY—WHILEY St. Joseph's Catholic Church, Condobolin, was the scene of a pretty wedding on Saturday, 9th, January, when Miss Molly Edith Whiley, was united in holy matrimony with Mr. Albert Frederick Parnaby. The church was attractively decorated by Mrs. W. Oppy, and the Rev. Father O'Brien, was the officiating clergyman. The organ was played by Miss Mary Byrum, and the ceremony took place at 1 p.m. A beautiful white crepe romaine frock, made in Queen Victorian style, was worn by the bride, who entered the church on the arm of her uncle, Mr. James Beasiey, who subsequently gave her away. A bouquet of frangipanni completed her bridal attire. The bridesmaid was Miss Nancy Whiley, sister of the bride. She chose a frock of blue georgette, with shirred bodice and swing skirt, and wore a hat to match her frock. Delphiniums formed her pretty bouquet. The duties of best man were carried out by Mr. John Kelly, while Mr. Lionel Nelson was groomsman. The ceremony was followed by a reception, where the forty guests were received by Mrs. H. Whiley, mother of he bride, and Mrs. A. W. Parnaby, mother of the bridegroom. Mrs. Whiley chose a smart satin back crepe frock, to which she pinned a shoulder spray of gladioli. Rev. Father O'Brien was the chairman, and the usual toasts were honoured, and many congratulatory telegrams read. The beautiful wedding cake was two tier. The many gifts received were both costly and useful and included a number of cheques. The gift of the bride to the groom was a gold wristlet watch; from the groom to the bride, an imported hand embroidered lunch eon set; and to the bridesmaid one pair of crystal cut powder bowls. A pretty floral frock with accessories to tone was worn by the bride for her travelling ensemble.
