Death* | 5 March 1936 | Attunga, NSW, Australia; CAR OVER EMBANKMENT. Man Killed, Two Brothers Injured. TAMWORTH, Friday. When a car driven by Alfred Charles Lennon, farmer, overturned on the Manilla-road last night, two miles from Attunga, following the collapse of a wheel, William Lennon, 65, of West Tamworth, was killed. Harry Lennon, of West Tamworth, suffered severe lacerations, and the driver, Alfred Lennon, suffered lacerated wounds on the nose, forehead, and scalp, and also shock. The three men, who are brothers, were on their way to Inverell to visit another brother, who is seriously ill. The car got out of control when the wheel collapsed and shot over an embankment. William Lennon was pinned underneath. Henry Lennon and Alfred Lennon were admitted to hospital.1 |
